Lectuur voor de komende dagen..

In the heart of the forest, two men sit at midnight, haunted by fear of discovery. In a few hours’ time, one of them will be dead, his secrets following him to the grave… When C. I. Gamache is called to investigate a murder in a picturesque Three Pines, he finds a village in chaos. A man has been found, bludgeoned to death, and there is no sign of a weapon, a motive or even the dead man’s name. Gamache and his colleagues, Inspector Beauvoir and Agent Isabelle Lacoste, start to dig under the skin of this peaceful haven for clues. They slowly uncover a trail of stolen treasure, mysterious codes and a shameful history that begins to shed light on the victim’s identity – and point to a terrifying killer…

From the bestselling author of LABYRINTH and SEPULCHRE – a compelling story of ghosts and remembrance. Illustrated throughout by Brian Gallagher.

The Great War took much more than lives. It robbed a generation of friends, lovers and futures. In Freddie Watson’s case, it took his beloved brother and, at times, his peace of mind. In the winter of 1928, still seeking resolution, Freddie is travelling through the French Pyrenees. During a snowstorm, his car spins off the mountain road. He stumbles through woods, emerging in a tiny village. There he meets Fabrissa, a beautiful woman also mourning a lost generation. Over the course of one night, Fabrissa and Freddie share their stories. By the time dawn breaks, he will have stumbled across a tragic mystery that goes back through the centuries.

By turns thrilling, poignant and haunting, this is a story of two lives touched by war and transformed by courage.

THE WINTER GHOSTS is a gorgeous illustrated novel inspired by The Cave, Kate Mosse’s short story written for the Quick Reads Initiative for adult emergent readers.

Communication

With the right to be informed goes the duty to seek information.  Information does not simply occur; it has to be sought.
On the other hand, in order to get it, the man who wants information must have access to the varied means of communication.

Life

When I was 5 years old,
my mom always told me that
happiness was the key to life.
When I went to school, they asked
me what I wanted to be
when I grew up. I wrote down “happy.”
They told me I didn’t understand the
assignment and I told them
they didn’t understand life.

Ierland! Tips?

I decided to go on a vacation with my brother in the early summer period. (June).
Therefore, I’ve been browsing the net a bit but there is no better way to find the good places we should visit by tips of others.

That’s why I got this special post requesting your tips and advice for us.

What spot should we visit and why do you think we should visit it in the first place? :)

So.. running schedule

Had this weekend a training replaced by an indoor soccer game which ran waaaaayyy to smoothly in my humbled opinion.  We won with 10-4 and I wasn’t even tired at the end of game. :/

Will continue new track tomorrow (Tuesday) and recap that 10km in 50 mins to restart.

Happy Hanukkah!

Wishing you peace and joy during this season of lights.
